Minorities in Aquaculture Internship
Summer 2024 - Moss Landing, California
Sunflower Star Laboratory is proud to partner with Minorities in Aquaculture to sponsor a paid internship.
Duties: Assist the SSL Lab Manager with laboratory responsibilities, including: daily algae culture, cell counts, salt water production, water quality testing, maintenance of all filtration and life support units, new lab configurations, spawning and rearing trials of echinoderms.
Depending on skills and experience the intern may also be asked to mentor volunteers, design and run their own experiments under supervision, and/or document their experience with the help of SSL’s digital media team (time permitting).
The team at Sunflower Star Lab would love to have an intern stay for longer than 8 weeks at a little fewer hours per week if you’d like more time to explore the Central Coast.
Open to non-local applicants - Minorities in Aquaculture will help coordinate housing and reimburse transport.
